The Greensboro Scholastic Tournament is a 5-round, Scholastic event that began in April of 2016 and is held every other month. One of the largest and most successful one-day events in the Southeast, this tournament attracts young energetic players from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The tournament is only open to scholastic players (K-12) with a USCF rating of 1000 or less. USCF membership available for purchase onsite.

Pre-registration deadline is 9:00 pm the day before the event. On-site registration is from 10:00am – 10:45am on the day of the event. Please arrive on-time.

There is plenty of food choices as they have a Chick-fil-A, Aggie Wings, Sub Connection, Einstein Bagels, 1891 Bistro, Barnes & Nobles, several ATMs, and a Convenience Store. There are several lounges, recreation and gaming areas, and an Information Desk.
Format: 5 Round Swiss
Time Control: G/30;d5 (Game 30 min. with a 5 second delay)
Round Times: Round 1 — 11:00 am; Round 2 — 12:00 pm; Round 3 — 2:00 pm; Round 4 — 3:00 pm; Round 5 — 4:00 pm;
Byes: One 1/2-point bye available any round — must declare before the start of event!
Sections: Section will consist of 8 players divided by rating. Unrated players will be placed into the section that most closely reflects their ability. The Tournament Director reserves the right to create sections of any size if necessary. The most current USCF Supplement will be used for ratings/pairings.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded. All participants will get a medal or certificate of participation. If a section has less than 8 players, then only 1st and/or 2nd place trophies will be awarded.
