Jacob has been playing with the Greensboro Chess Club and in tournaments since 2000, and holds a US Chess regular rating of 1613. He is a tournament director for the club as well as a coach.
He teaches players of every age and level, from children learning how the pieces move to tournament players working on their openings. Lessons run at the Hemphill Branch Library on West Vandalia Road, and they are free.
Ask him about the King's Indian Defence, the King's Indian Attack, or the Nimzowitsch Defence, which are the openings he most enjoys teaching.
